Le Gateau Chocolat's work spans drag, cabaret, opera, musical theatre, children’s theatre and live art. Previous works toured inc. Le Gateau Chocolat (2011), I [Heart] Chocolat (2012), In Drag (2013), BLACK (2015-), Duckie (2016-) and ICONS (2016-). He has performed at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera House and as part of the Olivier winning La Clique/La Soiree.
Le Gateau Chocolat's accolades include a Total Theatre Award nomination for BLACK, Best Cabaret (Perth Fringe ’17) and Top 10 Cabaret Stars (Time Out). A technically-gifted baritone, he has worked with composers Julian Philips, Jonathan Dove, Jocelyn Pook and Orlando Gough. He has performed as Feste in Twelfth Night (The Globe ’17), in Tom Waits’ The Black Rider (Malthouse, Melbourne ’17) and most recently in Effigies of Wickedness (Gate Theatre/ENO ’18) and Taylor Mac's A 24-Decade History of Popular Music: The First Act (LIFT '18).
Recently Le Gateau Chocolat has started work on several new projects, the first in fruition being RAW CACAO, a piece developed for Utopia a programme curated by Charlotte Church for Wales Millennium Centre’s Festival of the Voice ’18.
Le Gateau Chocolat's work continues as a vehicle for discussing otherness, discrimination, and mental health crises as universal concerns whilst opening up discussions with marginalised groups across ages and within LGBTQ+ and BAME communities where these issues are pressing.
