WHO ARE WE?

The Sick of the Fringe is a strategy, an ethos and a community, which makes the world safe (or safer) for challenging art and challenging realities.

The challenges we are particularly interested in fighting are inequality, inaccessibility, elitism and mediocrity.

We fight on behalf of artists, audiences and the public good.

Our work includes

commissioning

→ programming

writing

→ conversations

The Sick of the Fringe was founded in 2015 through Wellcome commissioning by artist Brian Lobel and Tracy Gentles, Creative Director of Something To Aim For, who develop and produce the programme.

'The Sick of the Fringe offered something that many disability arts festivals do not, an opportunity for those to join the conversation who identify somewhere between disabled and non disabled or between sick and healthy.' Disability Arts Online on TSOTF London 2017
